NASA’s Mars helicopter
- It rode to Mars strapped beneath Perseverance, and on 19 April 2021 it made the first powered flight on another planet.
- Built for up to five test flights in 30 days, it flew 72 times over nearly three years: 128.8 minutes in the air, 17 km covered, and as high as 24 m.
- It weighs 1.8 kg, and its rotors are 1.2 m across.
- Its last flight was on 18 January 2024. Its rotor blades were damaged on landing, and that ended the mission.
