Things I built with AI

I build small, useful, and sometimes silly things with AI.

Every building on this base holds one kind of work. Pick one to look inside.

The ground is the real Jezero Crater: elevation and imagery from the CTX camera on NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (NASA/JPL-Caltech/MSSS/USGS). Perseverance and Ingenuity 3D models: NASA/JPL-Caltech. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by NASA.

Perseverance

NASA’s Mars 2020 rover

  • It landed on 18 February 2021 on the floor of Jezero Crater, at a spot now called Octavia E. Butler Landing. That is where this base is set.
  • Jezero is where an ancient river met a lake and left a delta. Perseverance searches it for signs of ancient microbial life.
  • It carries seven science instruments and 23 cameras, more cameras than any interplanetary mission before it.

Ingenuity

NASA’s Mars helicopter

  • It rode to Mars strapped beneath Perseverance, and on 19 April 2021 it made the first powered flight on another planet.
  • Built for up to five test flights in 30 days, it flew 72 times over nearly three years: 128.8 minutes in the air, 17 km covered, and as high as 24 m.
  • It weighs 1.8 kg, and its rotors are 1.2 m across.
  • Its last flight was on 18 January 2024. Its rotor blades were damaged on landing, and that ended the mission.
